BALLNOSE
A Ball Nose Cutter, also known as a Ball End Mill, is a specialized cutting tool used primarily in 3D contouring, die and mold machining, and complex surface profiling. Unlike standard end mills, the cutting end of a ball nose cutter is hemispherical, allowing it to machine curved surfaces with high precision and smooth finishes.
Solid carbide ball nose cutters are made from tungsten carbide, offering superior hardness, heat resistance, and wear performance. These tools are ideal for high-speed machining and maintain their cutting edge sharpness over long production runs. They are commonly used in aerospace, automotive, medical, and tool & die industries for machining alloy steels, hardened steels, titanium, and other tough materials.
Ball nose cutters are capable of cutting in both axial and radial directions, but they excel in semi-finishing and finishing applications that require high accuracy and fine surface quality.
